Google AI Plus vs AI Pro: the $13 decision
The gap between AI Plus and AI Pro is $13 a month. For heavy users that is trivial; for light users it is wasted money. The deciding factor is whether you need storage and professional limits.
Quick answer
What is the direct answer?
Choose Google AI Plus if you mostly ask Gemini everyday questions and want the cheapest paid tier. Choose Google AI Pro if you need 2 TB of storage, expanded Gemini 3.1 Pro access, Deep Research, Flow or NotebookLM. The difference in model quality is small; the difference in limits and bundled tools is large.

Frequently asked questions
Can I start with Plus and upgrade later?
Yes. Top-ups are separate one-month purchases, so you can try Plus and buy Pro the next month.
Does AI Plus include Gemini 3.1 Pro?
Plus raises your access above the free tier, but the expanded Gemini 3.1 Pro limits and Deep Research access sit on the Pro tier.
Is 2 TB really included with Pro?
Yes. AI Pro includes 2 TB of Google One storage shared across Drive, Gmail and Photos on that account.
